Works approval application for a waste to energy (pyrolysis) facility (2016, Confidential client)
Ascend Waste and Environment developed and submitted a detailed Victorian EPA Works Approval Application for a greenfields development of a waste to energy (pyrolysis) plant. The application required detailed analysis, impact assessment and best practice demonstration in environmental areas such as air emissions, GHG emissions, water use and discharge impacts, noise, waste feedstock handling, management and outputs and integrated environmental assessment.
REgulatory approvals for incinerator project (2015, Confidential client, Victoria)
Ascend acted as regulatory expert for preparation of an RD&D approval application for an incineration project planned for rural Victoria.

Geoff Latimer conducted a range of regulatory approval and compliance projects while in previous employment at RAMBOLL ENVIRON and KMH Environmental, including as standing regulatory consultant for a Victorian waste incineration facility. This work involved resolution of licence operational issues, kiln residue classification and regulatory management, planning a significant waste to energy pilot project and working through to successful conclusion of an EPA Research, Development and Demonstration (RD&D) approval.
